Dear Panther families,
Students and staff enjoyed a very positive first week of school. As many of you are aware, we are happy to have many more kindergarten students than expected and to also have new students of various ages, from many different locations in Ontario, who have joined our community. We have grown from 150 to 175 students, the biggest school population in many years.
This means that we will be reorganizing our students from 7 classes to 8 classes. Many students will be changing classes and teachers. We will prepare them (and you) for this transition. I will be working with the board to hire the needed staff and with our current teachers to best place our students. In creating class lists, we always consider many factors: student stengths and needs, frienships, access to supports and transition plans.
I will communicate more detailsabout your child later in the week. Students will have an opportunity to move their belongings and meet their new classroom community on Friday afternoon. The new organization will begin September 15th.
