It was a huge success.Many students have started bringing toys to school. Outside toys like trucks to play in the sand, balls and skipping ropes are always welcome. Some students have permission to use fidgets or stress balls as a learning tool. Stuffies, little dolls, slime are not permitted during instructional time. Inside toys are becoming a distraction and source of conflict. Please support us in asking your child to keep these toys at home.We have a number of snapping turtle nests on our yard. We have asked students to protect wildlife and not touch the turtles or dig up the eggs. Please remind them of this important rule if they play on the yard during the weekends or after school. Monday is Play Day . Your child will be given bbq hot dogs and a milkshake, so please pack less lunch. Many activities are waterbased - the fabulous foam machine and the firefighter hose. Please have your child dress in a school appropriate bathing suit under their clothing. Many students choose to wear a tshirt and shorts instead of a bathing suit. Please send undergarments and an extra set of clothes for after the activities and a bag for wet clothes. You can also send a towel, sunscreen and a hat. It is sure to be a great day.Dads- Don't read this. A special father's day/caregiver's day gift will be coming home next week. It would be helpful to put it in the dryer for a short time to "set" it. Next week is a busy one with EQAO and Track and Field. Friday is a PA Day for teachers to work on report cards. Please make sure that your child has outdoor shoes and indoor shoes suitable for gym activities. Flip flops and Crocs (even in Sports Mode) are not safe in the gym. We had a very successful lockdown drill this week. In the coming weeks we will be practising fire drills. We welcomed 20 new kindergarten students to or school community. <h2 class="editor-heading-h2">Starting Monday, Mrs. Appleton's class will be selling big freezies for a twoonie at second recess. The funds raised will go towards the end of year trip.</h2> Have a wonderful weekend. Pride Month Recognition in Limestone

The Limestone District School Board (LDSB) Education Centre, along with schools across the district, is recognizing Pride Month in the KFL&A region by flying the Progress Pride Flag for the remainder of the school year.The Government of Canada notes that the manner in which the Canadian flag is displayed is not governed by legislation. The guidelines provided are not mandatory for individuals or organizations but are intended to offer general direction.After consultation and clarification from Heritage Canada and communication with trustees, LDSB schools with only one flagpole will fly the Progress Pride flag under the Canadian flag for the balance of this school year.  Limestone’s goal will be to increase the number of schools with more than one flagpole and/or the addition of yardarms to existing flagpoles to display more than the Canadian flag. Until this goal is achieved, we will fly the Progress Pride flag under the Canadian flag at sites with only one flagpole.Displaying the Progress Pride Flag is a way for LDSB to show support for the 2SLGBTQ+ community. This recognition does not diminish our respect for Canada’s national flag; rather, it reflects our commitment to ensuring that all students, staff, and families feel welcomed, valued, and respected in Limestone schools.Flying the Progress Pride Flag is one example of how LDSB demonstrates its inclusive culture. As a publicly funded school board, we have both a legal and moral responsibility to create learning environments where everyone can see themselves reflected and feel a sense of belonging.

<h2 class="editor-heading-h2">Technical Advisory Group (TAG) is Seeking Expression of Interest</h2>The Limestone District School Board is seeking expressions of interest from <a href="about:blank" class="editor-link">individuals</a><a href="#_msocom_1" class="editor-link">[EL1]</a>  interested in joining the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) in support of the ongoing Student Census 2025 project.The purpose of the Technical Advisory Group is to provide advice, perspectives, and recommendations related to the design of data collection methods, analysis, and the representation of results for LDSB’s Student Census. TAG plays a critical role in ensuring that multiple and diverse perspectives are applied to the interpretation of data, helping to minimize bias and strengthen the relevance and integrity of findings.We are seeking expressions of interest for the committee for the September 2026 to August 2028 term.  We welcome expressions of interest from all members of the Limestone community, including those who can help us fill the following vacancies:<ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem">One to two parents of a Limestone student(s) who is not an employee of the LDSB</li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem">A Limestone school administrator</li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem">One or more Limestone secondary students</li><li value="4" class="editor-listitem">One community partner member who works alongside LDSB</li></ul>Experience in data collection, analysis, and/or reporting of identity‑based data is encouraged; however, individuals with a broad range of research or analysis backgrounds and/or lived experiences are encouraged to apply.
